Gala celebrating 50th anniversary of China–Samoa diplomatic relations held in Samoa

To mark the 50th anniversary of China–Samoa diplomatic relations, the Huizhou Cultural and Municipal Delegations visited Samoa on November 20–21, carrying out a series of cultural exchange activities.

On the evening of November 21, a gala celebrating the 50th anniversary of China–Samoa diplomatic relations took place at the Samoa Culture & Arts Center. The Huizhou Cultural Exchange Delegation performed the Huidong Fishermen's Song, Longmen Fire Dog Dance, Huidong Gaizi Lion Dance, and a Hakka song accompanied by guitar. The Samoan troupe showcased traditional dances, with both sides highlighting the unique charm of their cultures.

During the visit, the Huizhou Cultural Exchange Delegation also staged performances at the China–Samoa Friendship Park for overseas Chinese and local residents.

To promote Huizhou's culture and tourism, the "Feel the Charm of Huizhou" exhibition was held at the Samoa Culture & Arts Center, featuring 42 pieces of calligraphy and traditional Chinese paintings, as well as displays of Huizhou intangible cultural heritage, student artworks, paper-cutting pieces, and images highlighting the city's identity.

This event was jointly held by the Government of the Independent State of Samoa, the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in Samoa, and the Huizhou Municipal People's Government of Guangdong Province.
