Dragon and lion dance event of China's 15th National Games concludes in Foshan

The 15th National Games Mass Exhibition Dragon and Lion Dance Event concluded in Foshan's Chancheng District on November 13.

Over three days, leading teams from across the country delivered a high-level competition and a vibrant showcase of traditional Chinese culture.

Lions and dragons have long symbolized good fortune and protection in Chinese folklore, and in Foshan, dragon and lion dance remains an integral part of local life. From festivals to major celebrations, performances are ever-present, with regular shows at the Foshan Ancestral Temple drawing visitors from across China and abroad.

During the event, International Olympic Committee President Thomas Bach visited Chancheng, beating the lion dance drum in Liantang Village and joining students at Zhangcha Central Primary School to experience the energy of this traditional sport.
