Guangzhou Symphony Orchestra graces Baiyun Airport T3 with symphonic works

The Baiyun Airport in Guangzhou, capital of south China's Guangdong Province, officially put its Terminal 3 and fifth runway into operation on October 30, making it China's first civil airport to operate five commercial runways.

In a special gesture, the Guangzhou Symphony Orchestra (GSO) enhanced the opening ceremony with a captivating performance, extending its warmest congratulations to the new terminal and its global travelers.

The collaboration between the GSO and Baiyun Airport dates back to April 26, 2021, when the two parties signed a strategic partnership agreement to launch the "Symphony Terminal Plan." Over the past four years, they have jointly delivered a series of distinguished projects, including the "GSO@CAN Music Salon" and the "Cloud Concert Hall," seamlessly integrating highbrow art into the airport's public spaces.

Throughout this journey, various outstanding chamber ensembles from the GSO, such as the String Quartet, String Duo, Brass Quintet, and the Cello Ensemble, have performed at the airport, attracting tens of thousands of travelers to engage with and enjoy the cultural experience.

With the inauguration of Terminal 3, the GSO and Baiyun Airport have further expanded and elevated their "Symphony Terminal Plan," extending its reach to the new terminal.

Currently, the GSO has officially authorized its critically acclaimed chamber music albums and live recordings to serve as the background music for Terminal 3, creating an immersive auditory experience for passengers.

This innovative collaboration between the GSO and Baiyun Airport not only enhances the travel experience but also sets a new benchmark for integrating cultural art into modern transportation hubs.
