As the lychees in Maoming, known as the "Lychee Hometown of China," gradually ripen and hit the market, the fields and orchards are bustling with harvest. These globally sought-after fruits are expanding into international markets.

According to officials from the Maoming Bureau of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, leveraging the first national technical trade evaluation base for specialty fruits established last year, Maoming has added five new export destinations this year, bringing the total number of countries and regions importing its lychees to 22. The city anticipates an export volume increase of over 110%.
In recent years, Maoming has promoted cold-chain preservation technologies, extending the shelf life of some lychee varieties from six days to one month. Maoming lychees can reach the Pearl River Delta and Yangtze River Delta regions within 24 hours, and the Northeast region in about two days.
Maoming invites the world to share the sweetness of China's Lychee Hometown.
Maoming lychees have become popular overseas, with exports increasing year by year. In 2024, Maoming Customs supervised lychee exports worth 71.054 million yuan, a record high.
On May 19, Maoming will host the "2025 Maoming Lychee Carnival" event at the China Lychee Industry Conference venue. The city extends an invitation to the world, encouraging everyone to come to Maoming to enjoy the sweetness of China's Lychee Hometown.
