On October 16, a cross-departmental drill for the "Direct Cross-boundary Ambulance Transfer in the Greater Bay Area" (pilot scheme) was successfully conducted between Guangzhou's Nansha and Hong Kong.
This drill simulated the scenario of transferring an orthopedic patient. The ambulance departed from the Nansha Campus of The First Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University, transporting a 28-year-old female patient who sustained multiple fractures and a cerebral contusion from a cycling accident. After the ambulance arrived at Tuen Mun Hospital, medical personnel from both sides seamlessly completed the patient handover and subsequent assessment.
Following the drill, relevant departments from Hong Kong, Guangzhou, and Shenzhen held a cross-departmental debriefing meeting to further streamline the procedures for the direct Nansha-Hong Kong ambulance transfer service, laying a solid foundation for the smooth operation of future ambulance transfers.
