Maoming's Dianbai accelerates late rice harvesting

The late rice in Dianbai District of Maoming City has now entered the key harvesting period. Over half of the 404,000 mu (about 26,933 hectares) of late rice in the district has been harvested, with an estimated total output of 164,700 tonnes.

Neatly arranged houses, murmuring streams, and billowing rice fields merge into a scene of rural prosperity.

This year's autumn harvest was hard-won. In early October, Typhoon "Matmo" struck during the critical booting to grain-filling stage of the late rice. After the disaster, Dianbai District acted swiftly and actively engaged in relief and recovery efforts, forming technical guidance teams to provide targeted solutions on the ground.

To minimize losses, the district implemented a combination of relief and recovery measures, including unified prevention and control of late rice pests and diseases, with aerial spraying covering over 6,500 mu (about 433 hectares) and encouraging farmers to treat more than 300,000 mu (about 20,000 hectares).

The golden rice waves and the green winter sprouts intertwine playfully, draping the fields in a colorful tapestry.

Currently, Dianbai District is accelerating the pace of late rice harvesting while simultaneously optimizing winter crop arrangements, ensuring stable and increased agricultural production in a disaster-affected year and reinforcing food security.
