Renowned as the "hometown of South China Medicine," Yunfu boasts 1,152 medicinal plant species, accounting for 10.33% of China's total and 44.31% of Guangdong Province's total.
The city's cultivation area for South Chinese medicine now spans 1.356 million mu (90,400 hectares), covering 58 specialty varieties ranging from Cablin Patchouli Herb and Morinda Root to Cassia Bark. With 15 seed and seedling breeding centers established, the city produces over 100 million high-quality seedlings per year, establishing itself as a leading supplier of medicinal herb seedlings in South China.
