The International Exchange Activities of the UNESCO Chair on Technology and Engineering Education for Children and Youth was held on November 18 and 19 at the Shenzhen Shekou Yucai Education Group Shanhai School.

With the theme "Technology and Engineering Education in Primary and Secondary Schools in the Digital Age: Global Vision and Multiple Paths," the event brought together leaders from the Nanshan District People's Government, members of international organizations, and over 100 experts and scholars from Ireland, Sweden, Malaysia, and South Korea.
Participants engaged in in-depth discussions on innovative developments in technology and engineering education in the digital era, shared practical experiences from their respective countries, and explored strategies for building international collaboration and sharing educational resources. The event aimed to advance the diversity and sustainable development of global education.

Tamas Hajba, Senior Advisor for China Representative Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), emphasized that in the context of global digital transformation, effectively leveraging advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence to drive the development of the education sector is a critical issue that requires urgent attention. He highlighted the pivotal role of educational innovation in this process.
In addition, the development of education in technology should focus on unlocking the potential of young people by providing them with ample practical opportunities and equipping them with the skills to solve real-world problems. Furthermore, fostering a strong sense of social responsibility is essential to comprehensively supporting the growth and development of future talents.

Yu Changxue, Director General of the China Center for International People-to-People Exchange, Ministry of Education of the PRC, stated that high-level educational openness is a vital vehicle for attracting global talent and resources,as well as for participating in international competition. It also serves as a key driver and an inevitable choice for building a strong nation in education, science and technology, and talent development.
He noted that Shenzhen, particularly the Nanshan District, has fully leveraged its geographical advantages and achieved remarkable results in educational exchanges and cooperation with Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan, and ASEAN countries.
