Vibrant 3rd Hengqin–Macao Blossom Carnival draws over 16,000 visitors

The 3rd Hengqin and Macao Blossom Carnival concluded on December 6. The month-long event featured a different themed carnival every Saturday, bringing together 38 performing groups and staging more than 150 shows and activities.

With diverse programming, the carnival attracted over 16,000 visitors, with participation from Hong Kong and Macao residents increasing compared to previous editions.

The first week's Art Week blended band performances with installation works by young Macao artists, creating a natural atmosphere. The second week, Family Week, showcased a popular production from the Wuzhen Theatre Festival and a robot-dog lion dance, drawing enthusiastic family participation. The third week, Eco Week, included a recycling workshop and green market to promote the idea of "cherishing resources and reducing waste." The fourth week, Sports Week, filled the venue with vibrant energy through sports and dances.

Throughout the carnival, exclusive themed merchandise, such as bookmarks, badges, fridge magnets, and eco-friendly tote bags, proved popular with families and young visitors. The event also introduced checkpoint challenges and stamp collection. The on-site Blossom Market, jointly operated by businesses from Hengqin and Macao, offered a diverse shopping experience, with several vendors seeing long queues and selling out quickly.

The event generated sustained high visibility for four consecutive weeks, accumulating over 3 million impressions and becoming a well-recognized public cultural brand embraced by both Hengqin and Macao residents. During the one-month blooming period, the Hengqin Flower Sea Corridor recorded 156,000 visits, a year-on-year increase of about 22.83%, reflecting the carnival's growing brand influence in attracting visitors.

According to the organizers, the event used natural landscapes as its stage and cultural creativity as its connecting thread, vividly showcasing the vitality and integration potential of public cultural spaces in Hengqin and Macao. It offered residents diverse experiences across art, environmental protection, and sports, further fostering integration between the two communities.
