At 7:10 a.m. on September 24, Zhuhai issued an orange rainstorm warning for the Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin. Hengqin immediately activated the flood and rainstorm emergency alert, while the highest red-level typhoon emergency alert remains.
The red typhoon warning signal is still active, and Macao has issued the No. 10 signal. Zhuhai authorities have also issued red alerts for ocean waves and storm surge.
Between 5:00 and 7:00 a.m., Hengqin recorded an average accumulated rainfall of 31.8 mm, with a maximum of 41.7 mm at Changwan Tunnel South. The strongest gusts reached Force 12 at Changwan Tunnel South and Hengqin Bridge.
As of 7:00 a.m., Super Typhoon Ragasa was located about 110 km southeast of Hengqin. It is expected to continue moving northwest at 20-25 km/h, maintaining its intensity as it approaches the central and western coast of Guangdong.
Hengqin is now fully within the typhoon gale-force wind zone (Force 10). Winds are forecast to strengthen further, with heavy showers at times.
Macao issued the No. 10 signal at 5:30 a.m., which is expected to remain. The red storm surge warning is still active, with water levels possibly reaching up to 2.5 meters.
Residents are strongly urged to remain in safe locations!
