Chinese Urologist Zeng Guohua conferred prestigious Royal College of Surgeons Honorary Fellowship

Chinese Urologist Professor Zeng Guohua, Deputy Director of The First Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou Medical University and Discipline Leader of Urology, was awarded recently the Honorary Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons of England in London. This is the highest academic honor the College bestows upon international experts.

Founded in 1800, the Royal College of Surgeons of England is one of the world's oldest and most authoritative surgical institutions. The selection process for Honorary Fellows is extremely rigorous, with the total number of living honorees maintained below 150 globally.

As a prominent leader in international urology, Professor Zeng has pioneered several minimally invasive techniques. His innovations, including the Super-mini Percutaneous Nephrolithotomy (SMP), have been implemented in over 600 medical institutions across 93 countries. He has led the development of multiple international clinical guidelines, authored more than 200 papers in top-tier journals such as European Urology, and holds 45 international patents.

Under his guidance, his team has trained over 9,000 urology specialists worldwide. He also founded the International Alliance of Urolithiasis (IAU), which now includes members from 112 countries and serves as the largest global professional platform in this field.

Professor Zeng expressed his commitment to furthering international medical collaboration, aiming to extend the reach of these innovations for the benefit of patients worldwide and to advance the global urology community.
