The results of the second Architecture Design Competition of the Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin were announced on January 26, with an award ceremony and exhibition opening held at the Hengqin Cultural and Arts Centre.
Launched in November 2025, the competition received 20 submissions from professional architects and university students. The jury selected three first-prize winners and two merit award winners in the professional category, as well as one first prize and two merit awards in the student category.

This year's design focus was on the Hengqin Southern Lagoon Ecological Conservation Area, with entries proposing architecture to support bird migration monitoring, wildlife rescue, biodiversity management, scientific research, and environmental education, while minimizing ecological impact.
