In a recent development, Maoming Customs successfully issued electronic versions of the Inspection and Quarantine Certificate for Imported Goods via the international trade "Single Window" platform. This streamlined process allows enterprises to obtain certificates online, enabling real-time inquiries, downloads, verifications, and printing, while ensuring seamless integration with subsequent production and sales processes.
The Inspection and Quarantine Certificate for Imported Goods, issued by the General Administration of Customs (GAC) of China, serves as a crucial verification document for imported goods, confirming their compliance with inspection and quarantine standards. With China's expanding import scale, particularly for agricultural products, food, and medical equipment, the demand for efficient certificate issuance has grown significantly.
To address these needs, the GAC recently introduced a dual-track system (electronic and paper versions) to optimize certificate issuance. Leveraging automated issuance functionality, enterprises can now receive electronic certificates with unique QR codes immediately after their goods are cleared. These certificates, which carry the same legal validity as paper versions, provide full access to goods' information upon QR code scanning.
Since implementing this new facilitation measure, Maoming Customs has actively responded to the GAC's guidelines, enhancing customs clearance efficiency at Maoming Port and improving overall satisfaction among importers. This initiative underscores the GAC's commitment to modernizing trade processes and supporting businesses in achieving faster and more efficient import operations.
