The South Chaozhou Channel was launched in Chaozhou, Guangdong province, on December 18, aiming at enabling Chaozhou to better engage globally and allowing the world to discover a more vibrant Chaozhou.

Chaozhou has partnered with Nanfang Media Group (Nanfang Daily) to create the new platform for international communication and for connecting with the world.
Chaozhou is a national historical and cultural city and one of China's most picturesque locales. Often described as a "living ancient city," it boasts more than 2,000 years of continuous cultural heritage. Chaozhou is not only a City of Gastronomy, with its culinary techniques recognized as national intangible cultural heritage, but also a center of Chinese arts and crafts. It is home to 17 national intangible cultural heritage items, including Chaozhou embroidery, Chaozhou woodcarving, Chaozhou ceramics, and Chao Opera, forming a distinctive cultural cluster that provides rich resources for international communication.
In its journey toward high-quality development, Chaozhou has achieved notable results. At the 23rd International Teochew Convention, the city showcased its profound cultural heritage and development vitality to the world as the ancestral homeland of the Teochew people.
At the launch ceremony, Liu Xing, Director-General of the Chaozhou Publicity Department, stated that the South Chaozhou Channel will delve deeply into Chaozhou culture—an important branch of Chinese civilization—highlighting its rich heritage, strengthening the spiritual bond among Chaozhou people at home and abroad, and building a bridge for the international communication of Chaozhou culture. Through these efforts, the channel aims to foster greater recognition of Chinese civilization among other regions and countries, and to contribute Chaozhou's strength to promoting mutual learning among civilizations and closer people-to-people exchanges.
