Maoming is known as "China's Famous Mooncake City," with a mooncake-making history of over 1,300 years and more than 100 varieties of mooncakes. Over the past month, Maoming's mooncake enterprises have been busy with production and stockpiling. They have launched mooncakes with new flavors, specifications, and packaging, adopting a "low-sugar and oil-friendly" concept to reach broader markets.
According to the Maoming Food Industry Association, this year, overseas orders for mooncakes and mooncake fillings have increased by approximately 20% compared to the same period last year. The products have been sold to countries and regions including the United States, South Africa, Singapore, and Canada, and the total sales volume of mooncakes in the city is expected to grow by over 30% year-on-year.

Madam Xian was a heroic woman in the history of Lingnan, and her cultural influence extends to countries and regions along the Maritime Silk Road. Fried rice cakes, which originated from the "Provisions of Madam Xian" craftsmanship, have been developed into a variety of mooncake products through innovation while inheriting traditional techniques. These products have quickly expanded within the Madam Xian cultural circle in Southeast Asia.
Yi Maocai, the representative inheritor of the production technique of Diancheng Fried Rice Cakes in Maoming, said that relevant institutions have been established in Hong Kong and Hainan. He emphasized that they will adhere to the original aspiration of "safety, nutrition, and health" to further promote Haoxin (Good-Hearted) Mooncakes and spread the Haoxin (Good-Hearted) Culture.
Currently, there are over 250 mooncake manufacturers in Maoming, employing more than 150,000 people. The city offers nearly 100 varieties of mooncakes, with an annual output of about 30,000 tons and an annual output value exceeding 4 billion yuan.
