When Foshan Wing Chun meets workplace exercises, it becomes the nationwide version of the "Wing Chun Work Break Routine"!
On June 18, the first episode of the "Wing Chun Work Break Routine" was launched on the Foshan Trade Unions' WeChat video channel. It includes classic Wing Chun techniques such as the "Yee Jee Kim Yeung Ma" (Goat-Clamping Stance) and "Yut Ji Chung Kuen" (Sun-Character Straight Punch).
Requiring no special equipment or space, it takes just 3 minutes to complete the exercises. People can quickly relax their bodies and stretch their back and waist to refresh themselves in a short time.
To promote Foshan Wing Chun—an intangible cultural heritage martial art—among workers nationwide and expand its influence across China, the Foshan Municipal Federation of Trade Unions has collaborated with traditional workplace exercise programs by inviting Dong Chonghua, the provincial-level intangible cultural heritage inheritor of Foshan Wing Chun's Yip Man lineage and honorary president of the Foshan Wing Chun Association.
The routine selects eight simple, beginner-friendly moves from traditional Wing Chun forms, creating a "Workplace Wing Chun Exercise" that is perfectly suited for adults with no prior experience.
At present, this special Wing Chun exercise has been made into step-by-step instructional videos and is being rolled out to workers nationwide via various platforms.
