First phase of 139th Canton Fair concludes

The first phase of the 139th Canton Fair concluded on April 19, making a strong start for the prestigious trade event. By the close of the phase at 5:00 PM, the fair had welcomed a total of 167,000 overseas buyers from 216 countries and regions, representing a notable 5.9% increase compared to the same period in the previous session.

This growth was also mirrored in the participation of professional delegations and major industry players. A total of 123 overseas industrial and commercial organizations attended the event, up 4.2%, while the presence of leading global enterprises saw even more significant momentum.

Out of 300 purchasing entities, 197 were comprised of top-tier companies—including Central Purchasing from the USA, Falabella from Chile, El Corte Inglés from Spain, Metro from Germany, and Daiso from Japan—marking a 6.5% increase in high-profile corporate attendance.

As the impetus from the opening week continues, the fair will transition into its second phase on April 23.

Themed around quality home living, this upcoming phase will span a vast exhibition area of 515,000 square meters. With 25,000 booths organized across 14 sections and three major categories, the second phase aims to showcase the latest innovations and trends in the global home goods market.
