Mingzhu Agricultural Park in Guangzhou's Nansha District is launching the "New Farmers' Games" event during the National Day holiday, inviting residents to participate in fun challenges and earn points redeemable for prizes, including discount coupons, local produce, and agritourism vouchers.
The "New Farmers' Games", launched by the park ahead of the 15th National Games, blends Nansha's farming culture with sportsmanship through playful farm-themed competitions. Events such as banana-carrying relays, chicken-herding, grain transport, and "kangaroo jumps" with fruit highlight agricultural heritage in a fun, engaging way—while promoting local specialties and driving agricultural, cultural, and tourism consumption.
On September 28, the park hosted the Guangzhou main venue of the 2025 Chinese Farmers' Harvest Festival. With the theme "Celebrating Our Harvest, Enjoying Our Life," the event showcased agricultural products, farming experiences, cultural tours, and sales promotions. Highlights included the launch of the Harvest brand series—Harvest Market, Harvest Class, and Harvest Tour—alongside the New Farmers' Games, intangible cultural heritage performances, and exhibitions of premium produce, creating a festive harvest carnival.
The Harvest Market drew bustling crowds with local specialties such as mud crabs, Yulu melons, and guavas. "It's fantastic—live streaming makes it even more exciting," said Zhang Bin, a streamer from Mingzhu Agricultural Park. "Two Yulu melons are just 98 yuan, and the deals in our live stream sold out almost instantly.”
The festival partnered with Nanfang Media Group's "Nanfang Food Basket" platform, extending promotions to over 30 fresh food stores across Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Foshan, Dongguan, and Zhongshan.
