In 2025, Heyuan Customs supervised the supply of 287,000 live pigs to Hong Kong and Macao, accounting for 23.4% of the national total and ranking first among China's prefecture-level cities for the tenth consecutive year.
To improve clearance efficiency, Heyuan Customs introduced a "declare-inspect-release on demand" channel, supported by a remote supervision system using 5G high-definition video to monitor pig health, quantities, and the loading process in real time. This system enables immediate processing upon declaration, including on weekends, allowing live pigs to reach the markets in Hong Kong and Macao on the same day.

In response to peak holiday demand, Heyuan Customs implemented a "holiday non-stop" clearance mechanism. During major holidays in 2025, customs officers remotely supervised more than 300 batches of live pig shipments, achieving traceable, fully documented, and zero-delay clearance, thereby securing a stable supply of fresh and safe pork for residents in Hong Kong and Macao.
