A dedicated Macao Tax Services Counter opened on April 21 at the Government Affairs Service Centre of the Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin, enabling Macao residents to access convenient, Macao-aligned tax services without cross-border travel.

It marks the launch of the Chinese mainland's first dedicated Macao government tax services counter. In its initial phase, it offers five agency services, covering tax declarations, incentive applications, and certification processing.
The services counter is jointly established by the Cooperation Zone's Commercial Services Bureau and Macao's Financial Services Bureau. It adopts a one-stop service model featuring "pre-consultation, document transfer, and agent delivery", focusing on high-frequency tax-related needs of Macao residents and enterprises. Services include guidance on Macao tax declaration, collection and transfer of tax-related documents, and receipt of official results.
Since its establishment, the Cooperation Zone has continuously deepened integration in government services between Hengqin and Macao. A series of measures have been introduced to facilitate the daily lives and employment of Macao residents, including the cross-border mechanism for business registration, the Hengqin-Macao Enterprise Secretarial Platform for Government Affairs, improved government service mechanisms, and the launch of the 24-hour self-service Macao Government Services Centre in the Macao New Neighbourhood.

Hengqin and Macao will continue to expand the scope of services provided by the counter. Within this year, the Cooperation Zone also plans to establish a "Macao Government Services Station" (tentative name). In the initial phase, various Macao government departments will be present in the form of services counters, and further integrated into a dedicated Macao government services zone, extending Macao's offline public services in the Cooperation Zone.
