"I never expected to find my long-lost relatives with just a village name and a vague given name," said Huang Zhuang, an overseas Chinese living in Australia, who recently reunited with his cousin's family in Haiwei Community, Shayuan Town, Dianbai District, Maoming, Guangdong, fulfilling a decades-long wish.

Having lived in Australia since the 1980s, Huang retained only two clues—"Zhongjian Village" and a relative's nickname, "A Tai." Through in-depth village visits, record comparisons, and genealogy research, local authorities in Dianbai successfully traced his relatives, reflecting the district's enhanced services for overseas Chinese.
At the reunion, Huang expressed deep gratitude and shared stories of hometown development and family life, saying he looks forward to returning often and renewing ties with his relatives and his roots.
