Hengqin promotes cross-border tourism in Spain via overseas social media campaigns

From April 17 to 21, the Guangdong-Macao In-depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin made its debut at major tourism events in Madrid, Spain, aiming to boost the visibility of Macao-Hengqin's tourism and attract more international visitors.

The Economic Development Bureau of the Cooperation Zone was invited to the "Experience Macao Roadshow in Madrid" and the "Macao Night" event, showcasing Hengqin's cultural and creative products as well as joint multi-destination travel itineraries linking Macao and Hengqin.

Under the theme of "Unlock Hengqin", the Cooperation Zone's booth presented Hengqin's unique leisure and vacation vibes with its robust economic vitality. Centering on the multi-destination travel model, efficient transportation connectivity, and cultural and creative highlights, the roadshow set up four exhibition areas with 20 booths.

To expand overseas markets, the Cooperation Zone officially launched major overseas social media accounts on Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok in April this year. During the roadshow, these platforms released real-time event highlights and the latest tourism updates of the Cooperation Zone, effectively connecting with global audiences.

As a tourism gateway in Europe, Spain serves as a vital strategic anchor for Macao and Hengqin to expand their European tourist markets. Through in-depth cultural and tourism integration, the two regions are fast emerging as compelling new travel destinations for global visitors.
