Portuguese-speaking countries delegation holds economic and trade exchange in Hengqin

A Portuguese-speaking Countries Delegation visiting the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA) had an economic and trade exchange meeting on October 24 in Hengqin.

As a key supporting event for the second China-Portuguese-speaking Countries Economic and Trade Expo (C-PLPEX), this exchange attracted 29 representatives from high-quality enterprises and institutions in countries including Brazil, Portugal, and Guinea-Bissau.

Covering sectors such as food and beverage, modern agriculture, professional services, technological innovation, sustainable materials, and education and training, the participants gathered at the Service Centre for Economy and Trade between China and Portuguese/Spanish-speaking Countries to explore cooperation opportunities.

"Macao + Hengqin" is becoming a new platform for the nation's high-level opening up. The center will leverage Macao's role as a "Precise Liaison" for Portuguese-speaking Countries, combined with Hengqin's policy and location advantages, to provide comprehensive services for businesses from Portuguese-speaking Countries seeking economic and trade cooperation in China, facilitating their efficient integration into the Chinese market.

Representatives from the China-PSC Economic and Trade Centre presented on the center's functions and services, policy support, and cooperation prospects. They engaged in effective communication with attendees regarding the establishment of foreign enterprises in Hengqin, business matching opportunities, and possibilities for specific collaborations.

The representatives emphasized that the center will leverage resources from the government, industrial enterprises, professional service institutions, and other parties, and utilize the established 10 billion yuan China-PSC economic and trade industrial development investment fund, to fully assist enterprises with all aspects of setting up and operating in Hengqin and Macao.

In the future, the center will continue to integrate diverse resources, strengthen its core service capabilities, and collaborate with Macao to expand the breadth and depth of China-PSC economic and trade cooperation. It aims to provide comprehensive support for enterprises from Portuguese-speaking Countries exploring the Chinese market, building a new cross-regional cooperation platform characterized by two-way openness and mutual benefit.
