Seminar held to mark 5 years of China-Latin America Agricultural Education and Research Innovation Alliance

Members of the China-Latin America Agricultural Education and Research Innovation Alliance (CLAERIA) from universities, research institutes, and enterprises gathered at South China Agricultural University (SCAU) on November 28 to discuss deeper cooperation in agricultural science and education. The seminar was held to commemorate the alliance’s fifth anniversary.

Representatives from Chinese institutions, including the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences and SCAU, reviewed the alliance’s achievements over the past five years and outlined future collaboration in scientific innovation, talent development, and platform building.

Representatives from Escuela Colombiana de Carreras Industriales and Brazil’s Federal University of Mato Grosso sent congratulatory video messages, expressing hopes to  expand cooperation.

Launched by SCAU in 2020, CLAERIA now has 78 members from 15 countries. Over the past five years, the alliance has created sub-alliances and overseas research bases, developed innovation platforms, promoted agricultural technologies, and fostered joint talent training and cultural exchange.
