As of 12:30 pm on December 28, 2025, the total number of cross-border passenger trips through Hengqin Port this year exceeded 30 million, marking a 32.9% year-on-year increase. This is the first time the port has reached this volume within a single calendar year, setting a new historical record.

This year marks the fourth anniversary of the establishment of the Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin, and Hengqin Port is a key passage between the cooperation zone and Macao. As Hengqin and Macao continue to integrate and implement new policies, cross-border travel between the two has become increasingly frequent.
In terms of passenger composition, travelers from the Chinese mainland have been the main driver of growth. About 20 million mainland traveler trips have been recorded at Hengqin Port in 2025, up 25.8% year on year.

Travel demand among Hong Kong and Macao residents has continued to rise. More than 8.9 million passenger trips by Hong Kong and Macao residents were recorded at the port this year, representing a 49.6% increase year on year. Among them, passenger trips by Macao residents rose by 50.1%, while those by Hong Kong residents increased by 43.7%. Currently, more than 30,000 Macao residents live, work, or study in Hengqin, and the number of Macao-funded enterprises has exceeded 7,600. The deepening industrial and living integration between Hengqin and Macao has made cross-border commuting a daily routine for more residents.
Additionally, China has continually optimized its policies to facilitate travel for foreign nationals. Hengqin and Macao have also become more accessible for overseas visitors. Since the beginning of the year, over 450,000 foreign passenger trips have been recorded at Hengqin Port, a sharp year-on-year increase of 84.8%.
