Maoming Port's imported grain exceeds 420,000 tonnes in first ten months

Recently, a ship carrying 19,000 tonnes of corn slowly berthed at Maoming Guanggang Wharf. This marks the first time Maoming Port has successfully handled imported Brazilian corn. In the first ten months of 2025, Maoming Port imported a total of 425,000 tonnes of grains, including rapeseed, dried cassava, and corn.

Luo Tonglin, the person in charge of Maoming Guanggang Wharf, noted that this successful import of Brazilian corn not only provides local enterprises with higher-quality and more diverse raw material options while reducing their procurement costs but also elevates the wharf's status as a regional grain import and distribution center.

The wharf is situated in the Bohe New Port Area of Maoming Binhai New District. It officially commenced operations in 2019 and is Maoming's first 100,000-tonne-class deep-water port. In July this year, the Phase II bulk grain silo system of Maoming Guanggang Wharf underwent heavy-load commissioning.

As the bulk grain silos are soon to be put into use, Maoming Guanggang Wharf will support the development of the grain and oil processing, as well as the feed industries in the local and surrounding regions.
