Guangdong hosts fast track mechanism liaison meeting for multinational enterprises

On December 20, a liaison meeting was held on the fast track mechanism for multinational corporations in Guangdong at  Guangzhou's Huadu District, with over a hundred representatives from multinational companies such as Siemens, BASF, Hyundai, Watsons, Hitachi, Canon, Philips, Shell, Samsung, PepsiCo, Danone, and relevant provincial, city, and district departments.

The fast track mechanism allows the provincial governor to contact multinational companies in Guangdong directly, especially the World Top 500 enterprises in Guangdong, to coordinate and solve the key issues that restrict foreign investment attraction at regular intervals.

Since the inception of the mechanism in 2018, the Department of Commerce of Guangdong Province has been holding liaison meetings annually to regularly report on the mechanism's operation, listen to enterprises' suggestions and opinions, respond timely to corporate demands and concerns, and continuously improve the services provided to enterprises.

The meeting this year expressed gratitude to companies participating in the fast track mechanism for their continuous investment and support, introduced the operation of the fast track mechanism in 2024, and the province's efforts in attracting foreign investment.

Policy presentations were made by Xiao Wei, Director of the Foreign Investment Department of the Department of Commerce of Guangdong Province, and Chang Yuankai, Deputy General Manager of Guangzhou Airport Comprehensive Bonded Zone Investment Operation Co., Ltd. Business leaders are encouraged to actively facilitate Guangdong's industrial development by attracting more upstream and downstream enterprises to visit, discuss projects, and invest in the province.

During the meeting, representatives from five fast track companies, including Siemens and BASF, shared their experiences and praised Guangdong's excellent business environment and the practical efficiency of the fast track mechanism, emphasizing issues such as project implementation and intellectual property rights.

Zheng Zhongmin, deputy secretary of the Huadu District Party Committee, highlighted the investment and business environment of Huadu Economic Development Zone, stating that the zone, now upgraded to a national economic development zone, offers the highest quality of service to welcome investors from all directions.

From December 20 to 21, representatives from the fast track companies visited several Huadu enterprises to gain a better understanding of the industrial foundation and development plans of the economic development zone.

The Department of Commerce of Guangdong Province will continue to foster an environment conducive to foreign investment and economic cooperation, leveraging the fast track mechanism as a bridge for multinational corporations to engage more deeply in the province's economic landscape, committing to enhancing services and creating opportunities for mutual growth and development in the province.
