The signing ceremony for the Maoming Nanhai Island Film and Television Industry Development Empowerment Initiative and the 10 Million Yuan Film and Television Investment Agreement was held on January 23 at Maoming New City Holding Group Co., Ltd.
At the ceremony, Maoming New City Tourism Service Co., Ltd. signed a Strategic Cooperation Agreement for a 10 Million Yuan Film and Television Investment in Maoming Nanhai Island with Maoming Coral Culture and Tourism Development Co., Ltd., planning to produce 30 to 50 films and television works by 2026.
The company also signed a Strategic Cooperation Agreement for the "Maoming Nanhai Island Film and Television Industry Development Empowerment Plan" with Maoming Coral Culture and Tourism Development Co., Ltd., Guangdong Changdu Information Technology Co., Ltd., and Guangzhou Tuxu Culture Communication Co., Ltd. The four parties will collaborate to promote the development of the film and television industry on Maoming Nanhai Island, integrating film and television with culture and tourism to achieve shared prosperity in film and television culture, regional tourism, and the economy.
According to statistics, during previous shooting stays of multiple film and television crews, over 1,200 extra roles were filled in Nanhai Island and the surrounding areas. This has led to a cumulative revenue increase of more than 200,000 yuan for local hotels and homestays, and boosted restaurant turnover by over 30% year on year.
With the arrival of this 10 million-yuan investment, it is expected to create more job opportunities and further activate the rural labor market.
