Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport has been recognized as a leading hub in the Asia-Pacific region, securing two top awards at the Airport Service Quality (ASQ) Awards ceremony on 10 September. The airport was named the "Best Airport in the Asia-Pacific for Annual Passenger Throughput Above 40 Million" and retained its title as the "Cleanest Airport in the Asia-Pacifi."
The summit, held in Guangzhou for the first time, brought together global aviation leaders to explore how technology and design can transform the passenger experience. This year's theme, "Re-imagining the People Experience," focused on AI, biometrics, and human-centered solutions to enhance efficiency, comfort, and sustainability.
Guangzhou Baiyun Airport, the host of this year's summit and a major hub in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, has rapidly adopted AI and digital solutions across check-in, security, and boarding processes. Passenger traffic in China is projected to exceed 3 billion by 2042, highlighting the growing scale of the market.
