Recently, the interior decoration work for Terminal 3, part of the Phase III Expansion Project of Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport, has been completed. Terminal 3 is expected to begin operations at the end of 2025.
The theme "Blossom in Guangzhou" inspires Terminal 3's design, which features facades made up of eight "petals," highlighting Guangzhou's charm as the "Flower City." The departure hall boasts a spacious and bright atmosphere, enhanced by transparent skylights, a garden-like atrium layout, and a wood-look ceiling.
The underground transport hub is designed with a two-floor layout. The ceiling of the public concourse showcases dynamic streamline patterns that depict the majestic scene of "an aircraft taking off from Guangzhou." The stone flooring pattern replicates the ancient path relics found on Beijing Road, while the wall treatment incorporates wave-shaped golden decorative panels, reflecting Guangzhou's rich legacy as a millennium-old commercial hub.
The landscape staircase connecting the metro station to the airport hub is designed with the concept of "Time and Space Traversal, Dialogue with the World." Inspired by the idea of a "Digital Gateway," it serves as the "first visual landmark" representing Guangzhou's city image.
Once Terminal 3 becomes operational, the annual passenger capacity of Guangzhou Baiyun Airport will reach 120 million, while cargo and mail throughput will total 3.8 million tons.
