China's national artist from Foshan holds exhibition in Finland

Over one month ago, a seven-month exhibition of calligraphy by Liu Xiliang kicked off at the Kakslauttanen Art Gallery in Finland. From May 1 to November 30, the exhibition showcases over 20 new works by Liu, a national first-class artist of China.

Featuring five styles of Chinese calligraphy, including seal script, running script, regular script, official script, and cursive script, the exhibition presents the charm of Chinese calligraphy to the world.

Liu's ancestral home is in Xingtan Town, Shunde District, Foshan City, Guangdong Province. He currently serves as the Executive Vice President of the Guangdong Duanyan Association and the Executive Vice Chairman of the Guangzhou Chinese Poetry, Calligraphy, and Painting Research Association.

Located at the Kakslauttanen Arctic Resort (West Village), the Kakslauttanen Art Gallery hosts two to three art exhibitions annually, mainly showcasing top Finnish modern art. As the first calligrapher from the Chinese mainland to hold a solo exhibition at the gallery, Liu expressed his hope of promoting Chinese culture globally and facilitating cultural exchange between China and the West through this exhibition.
