On May 2, the 2026 Dongguan Strawberry Music Festival kicked off on the 80,000-square-meter Great Lawn at Songshan Lake Central Park. As the first large-scale Strawberry Music Festival held in Songshan Lake, Dongguan City, tickets for the opening day were sold out in advance, with a turnout of 38,000 people, setting a single-day attendance record for Dongguan's Strawberry Music Festival in the past three years. Hotels in the area were fully booked, and tens of thousands of music fans traveled from across the country to attend the event.

The festival features two stages. The first day's lineup spans diverse genres including R&B, folk, hip-hop and classic pop, delivering a rich repertoire and an electrifying on-site vibe.

Singer Renzhong Yan praised Songshan Lake, saying, "I have traveled to many cities, and the scenery here in Songshan Lake is truly stunning." Popular vocalist Jingfei Chen shared her gastronomic experience in Dongguan: "I had roast goose yesterday, and I truly understand the happiness of Dongguan people. I will come back to Dongguan just for the roast goose!"

Sandro Vaienti, a visiting professor at Great Bay University and a distinguished French professor, attended the festival with his family. He commented, "This is my first time attending such an event in China. I am pleasantly surprised. I really love the vibrant atmosphere of young music lovers and the high-tech products showcased here."

Beyond the music, the festival shines with strong tech elements of Songshan Lake. A range of "Made in Dongguan" innovations, including AI glasses, smart fish tanks, and 3D printing equipment, made a striking appearance as a highlight of the venue.

The on-site service facilities are well-equipped, offering a one-stop experience of dining, shopping and entertainment. In addition, the event strongly promotes the "Leave No Trace" environmental concept. More than 60 vendors are provided with garbage bags to ensure fun comes with environmental responsibility.
