Three major innovation centers launched in Zhuhai High-Tech Zone

Three Major Innovation Centers of Zhujiang Western Science City were officially launched in October this year in Zhuhai High-Tech Zone, south China's Guangdong Province, marking a significant milestone in the Science City's development.

As Zhuhai's core engine for technological innovation, Zhujiang Western Science City plays a crucial role in addressing the innovation gap between the eastern and western sides of the Pearl River Estuary. The launch of the centers in the Zhuhai High-Tech Zone signals a new phase of accelerated innovation clustering and sustained growth.

The master plan for Zhujiang Western Science City was unveiled in May, and within five months, three innovation centers—focused on embodied intelligence, RISC-V ecosystems, and artificial intelligence—were established and put into operation, underscoring the Zhuhai High-Tech Zone's commitment to fostering new quality productive forces.

Functionally, the Three Major Innovation Centers focus on aggregating full-chain innovation resources across the artificial intelligence and robotics sectors. Among them, the Zhuhai Embodied Intelligence Application Innovation Center—jointly established by Zhuhai Technology Industry Group, the Zhuhai High-Tech Zone, and Zhiyuan Robotics—aims to build a nationally leading platform for embodied intelligence application and industrialization, supported by an application innovation center and three platforms for public experience, industrial empowerment, and talent and ecosystem development.

The RISC-V Ecological Application Innovation Center focuses on addressing key technical challenges, advancing frontier research, and driving breakthroughs in RISC-V technology, while exploring application scenarios aligned with Zhuhai's industrial strengths to accelerate implementation and commercialization.

Jointly established by the Zhuhai High-Tech Zone, Zhuhai Telecom, Gree Group, and four local universities, the Artificial Intelligence Innovation Center aims to create a collaborative ecosystem spanning computing power applications, technology R&D, commercialization, and scenario deployment.

Since early this year, Zhuhai has been developing the core area of Zhujiang Western Science City within the High-Tech Zone, focusing on cutting-edge fields such as the low-altitude economy, artificial intelligence, and the digital economy. By leveraging five key strengths—Hong Kong and Macao cooperation, university resources, technology commercialization, application scenarios, and an innovation ecosystem—Zhuhai aims to enhance its role as a driver of technological innovation in the western Pearl River region and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
