Portuguese-speaking countries' delegates visit CECP in Hengqin to explore digital economy cooperation

Recently, participants in a digital economy training program between China and Portuguese-speaking countries visited the Service Center for Economic and Trade between China and Portuguese/Spanish Countries (CECP) in the Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin for an exchange and study tour.

Government officials and business representatives from nine Portuguese-speaking countries, including Brazil, Portugal, Angola, Mozambique, Cabo Verde, Guinea-Bissau, Equatorial Guinea, São Tomé and Príncipe, and Timor-Leste, took part in the event, engaging in in-depth discussions on cooperation in the digital economy with the Center.

Representatives from the Urban Planning and Construction Bureau of Hengqin shared details about the Robobus autonomous driving project, and delegates experienced a ride on Hengqin's self-driving shuttle bus.

The delegates witnessed firsthand the convenience and efficiency of intelligent transportation technology and gained a direct understanding of Hengqin's innovative capacity in smart connectivity. This visit allowed the delegates to observe Hengqin's growing digital industry and support future cooperation.

Jointly initiated by the Macao SAR Government and the Executive Committee of Hengqin, the CECP serves as a one-stop service platform supporting Chinese enterprises trading with Portuguese- and Spanish-speaking markets.

The Center has brought together resources from governments, industries, enterprises, and professional service organizations of Portuguese- and Spanish-speaking countries. It provides ten categories of services, including legal consulting, tax advisory, and language support. In addition, a 1 billion yuan investment fund has been established to support Chinese companies going global.
