The South Zhuhai Channel was officially launched on December 19 in Zhuhai, marking a new step in the city's efforts to strengthen international communication. Co-developed by the Zhuhai Municipal Government and Nanfang Media Group (Nanfang Daily), the channel aims to build a global communication platform and present a more vivid, comprehensive picture of Zhuhai to the world.

Located at a key junction linking the Chinese mainland with Hong Kong and Macao, Zhuhai is one of China's first Special Economic Zones and a city deeply shaped by openness and reform. From the pioneering vision of Rong Hong—the first Chinese student to study abroad—to the bold reforms of the Special Economic Zone era; from the Hong Kong–Zhuhai–Macao Bridge, a landmark mega project, to the development of the Guangdong–Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin, Zhuhai has long served as an important window for the international community to observe China's reform and opening-up and the vitality of the Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA).
Following its launch, the South Zhuhai Channel will focus on Zhuhai's active participation in advancing the development of the Greater Bay Area, the establishment of a modern industrial system with distinctive Zhuhai characteristics, institutional innovation aligned with new quality productive forces, the implementation of the "High-quality Development Project for Guangdong Counties, Towns and Villages," as well as innovations in improving people's livelihoods and coordinating development and security.
Xu Jian, Head of the Publicity Department of the CPC Zhuhai Municipal Committee, said at the launch ceremony that the South platform is an important vehicle for Guangdong to engage in global dialogue among civilizations and showcase the Greater Bay Area to the world. He noted that the launch of the South Zhuhai Channel will help present Zhuhai's unique charm in a more three-dimensional and engaging way, injecting new momentum into the city's high-quality development through enhanced international communication.
Xu added that he hopes the channel will comprehensively showcase Zhuhai's efforts to build a vibrant, innovative, beautiful, and prosperous city, serving as an "international living room" connecting Zhuhai with the world—helping more people understand Zhuhai, grow fond of the city, and choose to invest in it.
Wang Wei, Deputy President of Nanfang Media Group (Nanfang Daily), said the group will deploy its top editorial teams and technological resources to develop the South Zhuhai Channel into a key platform for Zhuhai's international outreach, jointly promoting Zhuhai's engagement with the world and enabling global audiences to gain a deeper understanding of the city.
