The "Charming Guangdong" International Communication Project was launched on December 7 at the 2025 Belt and Road Media Community Summit Forum in Yangjiang, in south China's Guangdong. This joint initiative by China Media Group (CMG) and Nanfang Media Group (Nanfang Daily) aims to enhance the province's global image in the lead-up to the 2026 APEC Economic Leaders' Meeting in Shenzhen.

A dedicated "Guangdong Time" segment will be created on CMG's FAST international broadcast platform. This segment will feature APEC-themed documentaries and other content produced by South, the international communication center of Nanfang Media Group (Nanfang Daily). The project also plans to invite overseas social media influencers to experience Guangdong and will organize online campaigns targeting international audiences.
Furthermore, China International Television Corporation, the CMG Chinese Language Global Program Center, and South will collaborate to produce a series of videos showcasing Guangdong's natural landscapes, cultural heritage, and urban vitality for global audiences.
Senior officials from the involved institutions attended the launch ceremony, including Liu Qiyu, Party Secretary of Nanfang Media Group (Nanfang Daily); Zhao Jianjun, Deputy General Manager of China International Television Corporation; Wang Feng, Deputy Director of the CMG Chinese Language Global Program Center; and Zhao Yang, Editor-in-Chief of the Nanfang International Communication Center (South).
