A seminar marking the third anniversary of the implementation of the Nansha Plan was held in Hong Kong on September 16, where participants from Guangzhou and Hong Kong discussed deeper cooperation in technology, youth entrepreneurship, and high-level opening-up.
Participants exchanged views on collaboration in innovation, youth entrepreneurship, high-standard opening-up, regulatory alignment, and urban development, while exploring strategies to build Nansha into a national strategic platform and strengthen cooperation with Hong Kong and Macao SARs by 2035.
Over the past year, Nansha's permanent population grew by 110,000, 70,000 of whom are young people while more than 3,000 new enterprises were registered, underscoring the district's vitality, said Liu Wei, a member of the standing committee of the CPC Guangzhou Municipal Committee and secretary of the CPC Nansha District committee.
Liu expressed hope that Nansha and Hong Kong would leverage each other's resources, uphold an open, global outlook, and jointly build a new platform for high-level opening-up.
