China-Singapore green building insights held in Shenzhen, exploring APEC-aligned cooperation

On April 23, the China-Singapore Green Industry Insights & Networking was held in Shenzhen, bringing together over 60 industry experts and corporate representatives. As Shenzhen prepares for the 2026 APEC Economic Leaders' Meeting, the event aims to deepen exchanges between China and Singapore on construction and digitalization under the APEC framework.

The event was jointly organized by the Singapore Chamber of Commerce and Industry in China (SingCham), Guangdong Chapter and the "Go Global" Global Service Center in Nanshan District, Shenzhen, with support from the Guangzhou Architecture & Decoration Association.

Juana Lee, Vice Chairman and Secretary General of SingCham Guangdong, and initiator of the session, delivered welcome remarks, highlighting the importance of China-Singapore economic collaboration. This was followed by remarks from Don Tan, Leader of the Singapore Delegation and Wang Defang, Vice Chairman of the Guangzhou Architecture & Decoration Association, who expressed strong expectations for deeper cooperation between Shenzhen, China and Singapore in green building.

During the keynote presentation session, Vicky Xie, Business Director of "Go Global", introduced the center's policy supports and service capabilities as a preferred destination for Asia-Pacific investment.

The roundtable discussion was moderated by Don Tan. Participating speakers included four AI representatives from the construction industry: Lü Jia, Chris Ang, Laurence Liau and Lynn Koh. The discussion centered on two themes: digital transformation and the alignment of China-Singapore green building standards. It explored the integration of Singapore's construction sector with cutting-edge AI technologies, while also addressing practical pathways for harmonizing building material standards and technical specifications between the two countries to help remove trade and technical barriers.

The event concluded with a networking session. The sharing session provided an efficient platform for resource integration and project matchmaking in the green building sector between China and Singapore, and contributed to advancing sustainable development in Shenzhen and across the Asia-Pacific region.
