On December 9, in Ruyuan Yao Autonomous County, Shaoguan City, two trucks loaded with camellia skincare base oil set off for the EU market. This marks the first time that Shaoguan's camellia oil has entered the international high-end cosmetics raw material supply chain.
On the same day, Shaoguan held a launch ceremony for the shipment. In recent years, the city has focused on upgrading its camellia oil industry, shifting from supplying raw materials to marketing finished products and building brand value. A leading local company has become the sole Chinese supplier of camellia skincare base oil to a French luxury brand, facilitating the transition of Shaoguan's camellia oil from a kitchen staple to a cosmetic ingredient—and from domestic markets to the global stage.
The city will continue to move the camellia oil industry toward higher added value and broader markets, striving to develop it into a pillar industry.
