The 2025 Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin Artificial Intelligence Competition kicked off on November 22, bringing together nearly 10,000 young finalists shortlisted from some 40,000 participants from six countries and regions.

Held alongside the 7th Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Teenage Robot Competition, the event is jointly supported by education authorities across Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao, highlighting deepened cooperation among the regions. Macao fielded its largest delegation yet, with around 500 students from 27 schools, while Guizhou’s Zunyi City sent a 150-member team.

A newly launched Embodied Intelligence Exhibition Area is among the main attractions this year, featuring advanced humanoid and multi-legged robots, interactive stage shows, and themed spaces designed for parent–child participation. Organizers said these additions aim to give young people a broader view of emerging AI applications and the technologies shaping the future.
