Last call to enter GBA Int'l Communication Competition for College Students

Time is running out to enter the first Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area International Communication Competition for College Students, with submissions closing on April 1, 2025. If you have not submitted your work yet, this is your final chance to tell the world the stories you have covered and gain recognition through prestigious awards!

Why join?

This competition is not just about winning—it is a platform to make your voice heard among participants from all over the world. If you are passionate about storytelling in the forms of writing, video, photography or any others, this is your opportunity to present your unique perspectives and share compelling narratives with the world.

All entries will be assessed by a judging panel consisting of professionals from journalism and academia. Winners will be honored at an exciting awarding ceremony in Guangzhou this May.

About the competition

To empower young voices in international communication, GDToday and the School of Communication and Journalism at Sun Yat-sen University launched this competition in December 2024.

It welcomes students from junior college to doctoral programs across the globe, whether participating individually or as part of a team representing their university, department, or campus media group.

What you can submit

Your submission should focus on topics suited for international communication, such as:

Submissions must be in a non-Chinese language and fall into one of the following categories: written reports, data journalism, audio & video works, documentary photography, and multimedia works (e.g., animations, H5 pages, comic strips, news games).

Awards & recognition

Each category will award one first prize, two second prizes, three third prizes, and several honorable mentions.
