"Hello, world! I'm Jieyang!" — South Jieyang Channel launched

On October 13, the launch ceremony for the South Jieyang Channel took place in Jieyang City. In collaboration with Nanfang Media Group, Jieyang City aims to establish a new platform for international communication and a gateway to the world, enhancing its global presence and helping the world better understand Jieyang.

Situated at the center of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA) and the Haixi Economic Zone, Jieyang serves as a key hub for developing Guangdong's coastal economic belt. Renowned as one of the birthplaces of Chaoshan culture, Jieyang holds esteemed titles such as "A Coastal Hub of Culture and Education," "Lingnan Water City," and "China's Jade Capital."

With a history that dates back to the "Records of the Grand Historian," Jieyang boasts a rich cultural heritage that spans millennia. The three-mountain kings culture, originating from Jieyang, is widely celebrated in Taiwan and Southeast Asia.

As a well-known hometown of overseas Chinese, Jieyang has a long-standing tradition of locals traveling abroad in search of work. "Qiaopi," a unique form of correspondence that serves both as a letter and a remittance, exemplifies Jieyang's deep connections with overseas communities.

In recent years, as Yingge Dance has gained popularity, Jieyang's dance troupes have frequently been invited to perform internationally, generating growing interest in the city and attracting more foreign visitors.

Currently, Jieyang is at a critical juncture in accelerating high-quality development, advancing industrial upgrades, and reshaping its urban image. There is an urgent need for an international, professional communication platform to support its growth. The launch of the South Jieyang Channel will act as a "cloud-based bridge" linking Jieyang directly to international audiences, allowing it to showcase its unique strengths. Through this platform, Jieyang will share engaging stories, amplify its voice on the global stage, and present a vibrant image to the world.

Post-launch, the South Jieyang Channel will concentrate on Jieyang's specialty industries, including green petrochemicals, the marine economy, clothing and footwear manufacturing, and hardware and electrical equipment. It will also highlight the city's distinctive cultural elements such as Yingge Dance, jade carving, and Chao opera.

Through vivid content, the channel will showcase Jieyang's innovative achievements in integrated urban-rural development and improvements in people's well-being. It will present a new image of Jieyang as a "dynamic industrial hub and harmonious city" that is vibrant, open, inclusive, beautiful, and livable.
