During the National Day holiday, the government compound of Foshan's Shunde District opened to the public for the first time, attracting a total of 185,000 visitors.
The Chinese-English bilingual version of "A Bite of Shunde Food Map" at the compound received widespread praise from residents and tourists for its accurate and practical information.

The map highlights the locations and features of dining spots, including "Famous Chinese Restaurants" (中华餐饮名店) and "A Bite of Shunde · Golden Phoenix Restaurants" (寻味顺德·金凤凰餐厅), along with several hidden gems favored by local insiders.
Tourists can easily access the electronic version of the map by scanning a QR code. Many foreign visitors remarked that the map has made it easier for them to explore the charm of Shunde, the "World Capital of Gastronomy."
The 20-yuan set meals offered by the canteen of Shunde's government sold out 1,500 servings in a single day. Tourists who missed out on the meals could quickly find nearby restaurants with the help of the map.
"We just wanted to enter the compound to experience the fresh atmosphere of government openness, but unexpectedly, this map has helped us plan our Shunde food tours for the next few years!" said Mr. Li, a tourist from Shenzhen. He has already saved more than ten restaurants marked on the map, planning to visit them on his next trip.
In the future, the bilingual map will continue to be updated. It will incorporate more high-quality food resources, add interactive features such as food review sharing and story collection, and further enhance services for international visitors.
