Foshan's riverside greenways offer a tranquil escape within the urban landscape, combining ecological charm with cultural landmarks. Stretching along the Tanzhou Waterway in Chancheng District's Shiwan section, the pathway resembles a "jade necklace" winding through the city, where clear waters, fish, and birds create a serene ecosystem.
1. Tanzhou Waterway Greenway (Chancheng Shiwan Section)
This winding riverside path features clear waters and green banks where fish and birds thrive. The adjacent Foshan Youth Park, a key development project along the greenway, serves as a habitat for visiting egrets.
2. Lanshi Memory Park
Converted from former warehouses and port facilities, this waterfront park includes terraced green spaces. Facilities encompass a 580-meter figure-eight running track, children's play areas, sunlit lawns, and shaded promenades. Shiwan ceramic motifs and Cantonese opera elements are integrated into the design.
3. Guzao Pottery Park
Industrial structures blend with natural landscapes at this heritage site. Pathways feature ceramic tiles depicting Shiwan's pottery history through traditional glazes and patterns, merging Lingnan cultural traditions with the park's topography.
4. Guangdong Shiwan Ceramic Museum
Located beside the greenway, the museum displays historical and contemporary ceramic works. Visitors can observe pottery-making techniques and participate in hands-on workshops.
5. Lingnan Wine Culture Museum
Housed in a distillery, this museum showcases traditional winemaking equipment and historical displays. Nearby, Taiji Café (太吉咖啡) serves coffee within the same complex, offering a combination of beverage experiences.
6. 195 Bistro
Operating in the evenings along the waterfront, this venue offers drinks in a casual setting with occasional musical entertainment, providing relaxed social gathering options.
