An exchange program between Zhuhai No. 1 High School and Germany's Hoffmann Middle School was launched on March 17, bringing students together in Zhuhai for a two-week cross-cultural program marking the 15th anniversary of the sister-city relationship between Zhuhai and Braunschweig.

At the launch ceremony, students from both schools exchanged gifts and greetings, reflecting a spirit of friendship and excitement.
Over the two-week program, German students will experience Chinese language and culture, including calligraphy, paper-cutting, and tai chi, while visiting Zhuhai, Guangzhou, Macao and other cities in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area to explore their landscapes, urban life, and cultural diversity.

Hoffmann Middle School student Lina expressed enthusiasm for the exchange, saying she hopes to learn more about Chinese culture and daily life in Zhuhai.
Lin Ouzeyue, a student from Zhuhai, said she has prepared to teach basic Chinese and calligraphy to help her German peers better appreciate traditional culture and make the experience more engaging.
Representatives from both schools said they hope to use the program to further expand cooperation in student and teacher exchanges, curriculum development, and cultural activities, strengthening cross-border friendships through youth engagement.
Braunschweig, located in central Germany, is known as the country's "City of Science" and has a strong academic tradition. Since establishing sister-city ties with Zhuhai in 2011, the two cities have maintained close cooperation in trade, culture, and education.
In recent years, Zhuhai No. 1 High School and Hoffmann Middle School have established a regular exchange program, combining online and in-person interactions to deepen cross-cultural understanding and support broader China–Germany educational and cultural exchanges.
