The Double Ninth Festival, or Chongyang Festival, a traditional Chinese day for climbing and honoring elders, was celebrated in Maoming with a large community hike at Fushanling on October 25. Thousands of participants—families, friends, and fitness enthusiasts—filled the mountain trails with laughter and cheer. Volunteers offered assistance along the way, while local villagers distributed free herbal tea and warm porridge, enhancing the festive spirit.
Two scenic routes connected landmarks such as Haoxin Garden (好心园) and Fushan Lady Xian Temple (浮山冼太庙), allowing participants to enjoy the landscape, sip tea, and experience local traditions. Looking ahead, Maoming plans to expand its "sports plus tourism" model to promote rural revitalization and sustainable development.
