Jieyang hosts Media field trip on its industrial cluster innovations

From November 3 to 6, a media field trip focusing on industrial development was arranged in Jieyang, a key city in eastern Guangdong Province. Journalists visited key enterprises to explore the city's industrial transformation and its journey to the world stage.

Jieyang is a core hub of Chaoshan culture, with an industrial foundation spanning petrochemicals, the marine economy, and manufacturing. In the first three quarters of 2025, Jieyang's total import and export volume reached 9.87 billion yuan, of which exports amounted to 8.72 billion yuan.

Jieyang flavors go-global through standardization

The journalists visited automated, standardized production lines for cakes at Guangdong Senle Food Co., Ltd. With 20 advanced production lines and an annual capacity of 41,800 tons, Senle integrates research, manufacturing, and sales. From ingredient sourcing to packaging, every stage is digitally traceable to ensure consistent taste.

The company has passed the quality and safety tests required by the U.S. retail giant Costco. The products now reach markets in Southeast Asia and the United States, including major chains like Walmart.

Through standardization and clustering, in the first nine months of 2025, Jieyang Customs supervised food exports worth 660 million yuan, up 26.8% year on year. By 2027, Jieyang aims to expand its food industry output to 51.5 billion yuan.

Footwear innovation steps onto the global stage

At Jieyang Shenlubao Footwear Co., Ltd., located in the Jieyang High-Tech Industrial Zone, Liu Yehe stated, "Good slippers are half about material, half about craftsmanship; both matter equally. Our goal is to deliver the perfect comfort for consumers."

The company produces EVA and PVC slippers under its brand "Luofu." With 80% of its products exported to more than 170 countries worldwide, Shenlubao continues to expand by organizing design contests targeting young consumers, adopting global standards in materials, and enhancing production through digital quality control. Its annual output is planned to double from 50 million pairs in the coming years.

Known as the "Capital of China's Plastic Fashion Footwear," Jieyang boasts a complete footwear industrial chain, diverse product lines, and rising global brand recognition.

Smart logistics drives efficiency

Digital logistics systems are paving the way for Jieyang's products to reach global markets faster and more cost-effectively. According to Chen Tao from Yuhu Cold Chain (Jieyang), the company's standardized cold-chain clusters can reduce agricultural product damage by 50% while significantly cutting logistics costs.

The Trading Center features three newly built intelligent cold storage facilities with a capacity of 65,000 tons, integrating international cold-chain trade, Chaoshan local food experiences, pre-cooked meal processing, and smart logistics. The project is expected to serve nearly 1,000 enterprises across the supply chain, boosting Jieyang's agricultural processing and logistics industries.

Jieyang is forming a new industrial landscape featuring green petrochemicals and the marine economy, alongside five distinctive advantageous sectors: garment and footwear manufacturing, hardware and electromechanical products, food processing, logistics and e-commerce, and the health industry.
