The 7th Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Young Artist Music Week
The 7th Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA) Young Artist Music Week is now underway in Guangzhou, bringing together young musicians, music educators and cultural organizations from across the region and beyond.
First launched in 2020, the event provides young musicians with opportunities to develop their skills, meet fellow performers and experience different musical traditions.
This year's program features five major competitions, covering piano, vocal music, modern musical instruments, orchestras and traditional Chinese instruments. The competitions will run from September to December 2026, with preliminary rounds held in cities across the GBA and other parts of China. Overseas participants can also take part online.
Young musicians will compete for Gold, Silver, Bronze and Excellence awards, with outstanding performers also selected for the Future Musicians honor. After the preliminary competitions, the top performers will move on to the grand finals in Macao from January 28 to 31, 2027.

The Future Musicians Awards Concert on January 31 will bring the music week to a close, with the top awards presented during the event. The concert will also feature outstanding young musicians invited from more than 80 cities across China and more than 30 countries and regions overseas, including the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Germany, New Zealand and Australia.
But the music week is about more than competitions. It will also feature concerts, master classes and music education exchanges. Outstanding performances and original compositions may be selected for a collection of music, with selected works released digitally and on CD by Pacific Audio & Video Co., Ltd., giving young musicians more opportunities to share their work with audiences in China and overseas.
