The 4th Nanhai Reunion Conference will take place from October 30 to November 2. Ahead of the event, the Nanhai District of Foshan City conducted a global survey of overseas compatriots to learn about their preferences for returning home.
The results show Guicheng Subdistrict, Xiqiao Town and Jiujiang Town as the most popular destinations, while more than one-third of respondents expressed interest in exploring all seven towns and subdistricts.

In terms of cuisine, Dali's signature Crispy Roast Goose topped the list of favorites, followed by Lishui Braised Duck and Xiqiao Fresh Pepper Fish. Traditional specialties, including Yanbu Autumn Eggplant, Dading Bitter Melon, Danzao Tea Eggs, and Jiujiang Raw Fish, also drew significant attention.

For local gifts, Gambiered Guangdong Silk, Pingzhou Jade and Rattan Weaving Crafts emerged as the most popular choices, reflecting strong recognition of Nanhai's intangible cultural heritage.

Among landmarks, Xiqiao Mountain, Qiandeng Lake, and Jiujiang Ancient Village ranked highest, underscoring compatriots' interest in Nanhai's unique blend of natural scenery, modern development, and traditional culture.

Beyond culture and cuisine, respondents also showed keen interest in the district's advancements in technology and finance, with Jihua Laboratory, Xianhu Laboratory, and Qiandeng Lake Venture Capital Town among the most anticipated sites to visit.
