On February 26, the "Qingyuan Industry Matchmaking Conference: Cross-Border E-Commerce Empowering the 'High-quality Development Project for Guangdong Counties, Towns, and Villages (the Project)'" was held in Fogang County, Qingyuan. A total of 160 Qingyuan-based enterprises from industries such as toys, apparel, and agricultural and sideline products showcased their offerings.
Local specialties like Lianzhou Bawanghua (dried edible flowers), bamboo shoot products, Liannan Daye tea, and Yao ethnic embroidery cultural creations attracted on-site collaboration talks with leading cross-border e-commerce platforms.
"We've already signed strategic partnerships with two Qingyuan enterprises today," said Gao Yinxi, CEO of bestsuppliers.com, in an interview with our reporters. "We focus on partnering with Qingyuan's industrial manufacturers and agricultural producers—helping the former export to Middle Eastern and Central Asian markets, and supporting the latter in expanding into Asia, Africa, and Latin America. We aim to collaborate with the Qingyuan municipal government to drive collective 'global expansion' for the city's industrial clusters."
The event gathered nearly 400 participants, including cross-border e-commerce platform representatives, industry association leaders, and county-level enterprise delegates, to explore new pathways for integrating cross-border e-commerce with local industries. Over 10 enterprises signed strategic agreements on-site, while major platforms and local exporters engaged in lively discussions, reflecting the vibrant momentum of county-level industries venturing into global markets.
Guided by the Guangdong Provincial Headquarters of the Project and co-hosted by the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Guangdong Committee (CCPIT Guangdong) and the Qingyuan Municipal Government, the "Qingyuan Industry Matchmaking Conference: Cross-Border E-Commerce Empowering the 'High-quality Development Project for Guangdong Counties, Towns, and Villages'" was held in Fogang County, Qingyuan.
In her speech, Cui Shuang, Vice President of CCPIT Guangdong, noted that since launching the "Cross-Border E-Commerce County Tour" series of events in 2023, CCPIT Guangdong has organized multiple matchmaking events in Shantou, Maoming, Jiangmen, Heyuan, Jieyang, and other regions. Efforts are also underway to promote county-level activities in Yunfu, Shaoguan, and Meizhou in Northern, Western, and Eastern Guangdong. To date, the activity has reached 87 counties (cities, districts) and towns (subdistricts), connecting 94 local industrial clusters and facilitating partnerships for over 1,000 county-level exporters with cross-border platforms.
Cen Zhongjian, Vice Mayor of the Municipal People's Government, outlined the city's progress through key figures: In 2024, Qingyuan's total foreign trade volume grew by 12.2%, marking a tenth consecutive year of growth. Cross-border e-commerce has emerged as a new impetus for high-quality trade development, showing a positive trend of rapid growth. The total import and export volume in cross-border e-commerce surged 125.8% year-on-year, ranking among the fastest-growing in Guangdong.
Pan Guobiao, Secretary of the CPC Fogang County Committee and the "County Tour" representative, shared that Fogang has attracted over 120 e-commerce enterprises in recent years, establishing four major systems for logistics, public services, talent training, and online sales of agricultural products. The county has also built an e-commerce public service center and a logistics hub, while hosting a provincial platform for agricultural resource integration. In 2024, Fogang's total e-commerce retail sales rose 28.6% year-on-year.

To date, the provincial "County Tour" activity has hosted over 100 product selection fairs, investment promotions, and training sessions, fostering partnerships between more than 1,000 county-level enterprises and the platforms. Moving forward, CCPIT Guangdong will collaborate with Qingyuan to leverage its global network—including over 70 overseas economic and trade representative offices and Guangdong business chambers abroad—to connect local e-commerce platforms with global quality service providers, optimize supply chain management, improve efficiency, reduce costs, and accelerate market responsiveness.
